Dealing with Guilt in Ministry
After 33 years of parish ministry, Don has weathered many discouraging days. He’s also experienced great joys. He will explore the biblical foundation for resilience in ministry, especially as it relates to the church leader’s battle with guilt and feelings of unworthiness and insecurity. In his workshop he will identify common causes of guilt, unworthiness, and insecurity; filter these causes through biblical themes for spiritual healing; and explore strategies for the church leader to become resilient and thrive through good times and bad.
Rev. Don Patterson serves Holy Word in Austin, Texas, and also serves as the president of the South Central District of WELS. Don and his wife have reared four sons and two foster sons. They have six grandchildren and enjoy parish ministry as a couple, especially church planting.
